Open Support’s Fundraising Program plays an integral role in ensuring the organisation is able to continue to actively address unmet social need in the community by supporting our vital core services and operations.
Our Fundraising Program is responsible for all activities and engagement relating to donations, bequests, workplace giving, community fundraising and other fundraising, as well as corporate and government support.
As a Public Benevolent Institution, fundraising has been a significant part of Open Support’s operational sustainability since the organisation’s inception in 1990. The first fundraising stalls took place in the months prior to the organisation moving into its current offices in St Vincent’s Clinic on September 25 that year; the first official fundraising function was held in 1991; and, the organisation’s inaugural fundraising ‘patron’ was Mrs Gai Waterhouse.
Being a not-for-profit with limited funding, Open Support is extremely grateful to all those kind-hearted individuals, couples, families, foundations, trusts businesses, local councils and government departments who support us in a variety of benevolent ways; allowing us to continue our vital services while helping maintain our sustainability.
